I have had 3 members in the last month ask me to hold corals for them so they could pay in cash at pick up. No problem right.... except once I've pulled those corals and set aside then ask when they can pick up, I don't hear back from them. I have no problem if you change your mind, but I do have a problem with being ignored or stood up. My time is valuable just like everyone else's. I would appreciate better communication. You change your mind, let me know. I don't want to have to ask for a deposit to hold, but I also don't want to put effort into holding stuff if your going to ignore me. I'm pretty easy going, I have no problem holding, and I work with all members in making them happy. Might be a coincidence but I only have had these issues on masc.

Help me help you. I don't want to make buying options different for masc. But I am getting really irritated with being ignored.

Ya hate to get all nasty, but maybe make them pay for corals up front. They miss an appointment, refund half the funds, keep the rest, and relist the coral? Or something like that? I'd be more upset arranging my day around a pickup only to be stood up. Imagine if we did that to customers.....that would be bad.

I feel your pain!

Even better idea might be if someone wants you to hold something, have them PayPal a deposit and if they back out later, you offer them that deposit in the form of a gift card to your site. Then if someone backs out because of say an unexpected emergency expense or something they dont feel totally shafted but you still are guaranteed something in return for holding.

I like that. I just try to be reasonable and work with everyone. But to ignore someone is so rude, it just drives me crazy.

There is nothing wrong with a no-hold policy. Deposit or pay in full are how a lot of businesses operate. If people do not understand this, then these are the ones that are going to be bad customers anyway.
