@Legonch did it a couple of months ago...but I think he said it was a PITA. I'm assuming the YouTubes aren't helping much?

It seems to take that guy 38 seconds to do everything, lol

Do you have more than one apex on the network? If so, you have to change the hostname of one or the other and then just follow the quick start guide otherwise.

Are you available for a phone call this afternoon some time? I’m going to help him but you may be able to save some time if you are willing. Pm one of us if you can. Thanks in advance!

I know Zombie works there, and he has been outstanding here, but know that's way above and beyond his job at Neptune. It's really appreciate and I think he helps because he is a good guy who helps hobbyists. He has no obligation to help us here, outside the https://forum.neptunesystems.com/

Neptune really has dropped the ball. They have easy start guides, that are not easy, or standard. You move up to more advanced programming and you have to decipher old and new manuals, along with the stream of updated AOS updates, that never makes it to the manuals or guides. Instead of stepping back and figuring this all out, making a stream lined documented product - they are more focused on pumping out more products/gadgets. Sad really.

When a user posts "can not figure out how to get this on." or connected or configured.... that should scream - ut ohhh

What's worse, when something fails, sending something back to Neptune results in "can't fix it, thanks for sending it back to us, but buy it new for 10% off. After you factored in you paid to send it to them, you're got nothing and wasted your time. (EB8 is fail and throw away)

I now have a $200 ATK ATO, that doesn't work as an ATO. Nice! One of the ports - high level on the FMM is bad. The other port with the low level is erratic, and often fails open (better than closed for sure). It's 13months old, I'm not even bothering with the terribly complicated and inept Neptune process for support. I had an old I/O Breakout Box that I am going to use float switches to replace the ATK. I know the FMM has four ports, but the other two are already being used for water detection (which I need to test because I don't trust anything works like its suppose to)

I paid a lot to have the new 2016 Apex, with most of the new cool add on features, but a year after the fact, its one of my 'regret' purchases when getting back into reef keeping.

Thanks for your willingness to help! If Andrew is still needing help in the evening he’s going to call.

From my viewpoint the biggest issue is... language. Programmers and tech guys speak a language while the general public speaks a different language. It takes a special person to translate questions and answers. In other words, interpretation of the question and translation when answering. Lol

The apex is certainly awesome and all the problems I’ve had have had simple answers. Neptune actually stood behind a product I purchased used! Controllers certainly are not perfect and don’t solve any problems if you don’t understand what’s going on I. Your tank for sure. They sure are nice when appropriately implemented!

Glad they stood behind a used product better than my originally purchased Apex Classic.

This will be his second. So just type in the IP address into search and go to the “classic” dashboard and change the name of the apex to something unique... then he should be golden? I tried this at home with no issues as I am updating to the 2016 apex in a couple weeks. Thanks!
