Thank you @JuanGutz & @Dr.DiSilicate for helping me move my tank in the house this morning! I spent some time getting it cleaned up today. I have some of the plumbing ordered and on the way. Hoping to get most of it plumbed next weekend. Going to spend my evenings this week trying to get the rockscape figured out and the sand in. Hopefully I will have this wet next week sometime. So I put together a rock scape of sorts. I'm going to be doing a mixed reef so I wanted to have the ability to go high in the water column or low. I have been collecting the rock for awhile now, so I don't have anything fancy for doing anything wild. I kind of like the mound look. I have lots of little caves and swim throughs. I have a lot of space for putting corals as well. View attachment 18033 View attachment 18034 View attachment 18035

Working on the plumbing today. Hoping to have the drain lines done today, I'm still waiting for the PVC for the return to get here. I have all the rock in, and the sand. I installed the lights, but have some tweaks to make on them. After I get the plumbing done, then wire management and getting all the equipment ready to run will be next.

It has begun! Water started going in around lunch today! I have leak checked the plumbing and everything is great so far. I had to shim the stand a little bit, but everything is straight and level. Starting working on the wiring and getting all the equipment ready to fire up in a few days once it's all filled up. View attachment 18103

Looking good! Could you lower those gyres now and get some movement going?
I thought about that. The display will be full later today and start overflowing into the sump. I was going to start the gyres up later today, and start slowly adding salt to start getting that mixed. Hopefully by Monday I'll be able to fire up the heaters and the return and start getting everything dialed in.

Is it a problem at all to fill the tank with ro first and then add salt? It’s the easiest way to fill for sure but is it a pain to get the right salinity deep in the sand and rock? Idk just asking.
I thought about that, but I'm going to have this running for a couple of months before I add anything to it, so I'll have that time to make salinity adjustments if needed.

Yeah I wonder how long it’ll take. I ask because I’ll hopefully be filling my 150 before the end of the month and wondering what I should do. Saltwater would be a pain to do as my largest container is a 44g brute but you’ve got saltwater right away. Then there’s just ro and it would be the easiest fastest way but how long does it take to to get the right salinity adjusted.

I'll let you know how it goes. I would have been hauling 5 gallon buckets had I not done it this way.
