I am thinking it is a plate coral as well.

It started growing on a piece of rock that I bought for the zoos. My brother noticed him first, as I had it in the back of my 50 gallon reef. I now have him in my 14 gallon reef. I have been feeding it small pieces of shrimp and it started to grow really fast. Is there anything special I should be doing for it?

There was a type of zoa that looked like what you got there that I saw at elite reef. I'll be right back after google search.

I am pretty sure you have a little hitch-hiking plate coral, do you see any thumbs?

Well, couldn't find it on the web. If you go back to elite I'm pretty sure it was in one of the pico.

I don't know if it's still there, but it was a small version of what you have.

So I was just rearranging the aquarium and touched the mystery coral and it has a hard skeleton. So you are all correct, it is a plate coral. Thank you very much for your help.

Lol, watch what you bet, it was a plate, and you could be half the man you were prior to that dead thread comment!
