This site actually has a cool "engine" for nudibranch ID:

http://www.julianrocks.net/Nudibranchs22/NudiFrame.php?Tname=NudiListP&Aname=NudiAD/DorisSp1

Haven't been able to ID the one you posted Nick, but it might be a good start.

edit: Didn't find it on that link above, but maybe...

Red Nudibranch
Dendronotus rufus

Typical size: 4-10” length

ID: White elongated body. Purple to red tipped branching cerata.

A rule ive heard a few times now for nudis is they generally resemble what they eat. Seems true if you look at bergia or lettuce nudis. Looking at that vivid purple color id be willing to bet this aint reef safe.

I agree with that with everything I've read, but like the velvet blue aren't sooo it just depends on if your willing to risk it if you don't keep it, see if anyone else wants it though someone might be willing to take the risk and save its life :)

If you knew what it ate I would be willing to take a shot at it. I currently have a FOWLR, so no fear of it eating anything.
