After seeing some reviews and such online, I decided to replace my AQ70 with add on In-tank media basket with the Seachem Tidal 75 on my 40 breeder. It was love at first site for me. With a built in surface skimmer, removable media basket, Sicce pump, and several other cute add on's, it is no wonder why folks are excited. It is also incredibly quiet. I never realized how much noise the AQ70 was putting out till I swapped filters today. Someone finally put some real thought into a HOB filter. It's about 15% larger in physical dimensions than the AQ70 but I would venture to say I have 50% more capacity for mechanical and chemical media. Flow is also substantially higher as well. While the AQ70 says 300 at the max setting, I doubt I was actually seeing that much. The Tidal 75 is advertised at 350 gph. I believe it is. This will no doubt be my goto filter for small tanks and my QT's.
