So I got my first clam about a month and a half ago and some days the mantle looks great and is fully extended and other days like today it's just barely open. Like it's looking out but not willing to risk opening all the way. I currently have the clam placed on the sand near some live rock. I think the diamond goby is irritating it since he decided to open a burrow right next to it this morning. Is placing this type of clam in the sand the appropriate location? Should I move it away from the rocks into the open? Should it be in high, medium or low flow? I am thinking about moving it to an area where I have some rubble and very little sand towards the front of the tank away from the LR and primary swimming lane. Just looking for thoughts.

Mine is doing great right in the middle of my sand in front of the tank. My diamond goby likes to dig around it but it like being there. I'd say medium flow ish cradled in a medium clam shell xD.
