Like I have always said, cant replicate that other person's tank. Chemistry isn't always what dictates results, but sometimes it does.

5.6 is not that bad. He has a calcium reactor, so you can bet that it only moves as the corals grow and he needs to turn it up. Lots of ultra low nutrient systems keep their alk around 6, or so.

Those numbers are almost identical to what you get when you whip up a brand new batch of Instant Ocean mixed 50/50 with Oceanic Salt.

Any numbers on what kind of lights, skimmer, GFO, bio pellets, etc. that people have used?

That's a crazy system! May be running the alk low because of the zeolite he stirs up three times a day! Seems like ultra low nutrient to me.
