Aquarium recommendations

Hello,

I am moving and plan on buying a new aquarium to put in my basement. I had a red sea reefer 625xxl before I sold it yesterday and though I liked the tank, there were a few things that bothered me about it. Mainly it was annoying to have to dial it in every water change to keep it quiet. I've looked at Planet Aquarium tanks but am curious if there are any new manufacturer's that I should be looking at? I want to stick with rimless if I can but want at least a 200 gallon tank so I can keep bigger tangs. And I want to preemptively say, I don't want to buy your tank that you have for sale lol. New tank time! :)

LMK!

Thanks

Have you look at CADE tanks yet? Their tanks are pretty sexy
Otherwise maybe Glass Cages? They build pretty sweet tanks too

never heard of Cade, was looking at waterbox just now. I will check out cade :) Glass cages had a terrible rep last time I was buying a tank, are they better now?

Algae Barn I believe is the US distributor for CADE so they may have a few tanks around that you could look at in person. I know MHT has a display tank that is a cade you could see too.
I havent heard of any recent issues with Joe, or Glass Cages

I was also checking out an upgrade and look forward to seeing some of the responses. I've also checked out Elos tanks, but they're really pricey.

yeah they really are. I've looked at them for years but it will always be from a distance haha. Even if I could afford to over pay, I wouldn't.

For a larger plug and play I would say CADE or Waterbox. I know there’s one other brand that’s newer too but can’t recall. I like the Planet tank that I have in the classroom though and they also have a full one with stands and canopies.

thanks for the recommendations everyone :) I am debating between an all in one or possible just a tank and building a wall around it. I have tons of space to work with and the idea of having a fish room makes me happy, but the work scares me. I'm not that handy to build walls. So I will check out your recommendations and price both directions. I thought Reef Saavy was a nice brand too but they were kind of pricey for what you get lol. Cade does look sweet, they are a tad more than the red sea tanks but cheaper than the Elos lol

The main downside I see on the CADE is the fresh water reservoir in the back of the tank. I guess it would be fine if you use a pump to fill it, but why would I want a reservoir 4 feet off the ground? Also, I want to assemble my own sump and plumbing with a Bean Animal, so I'm a little avoidant of Waterbox and CADE. I'm talking to Cris at AA about a Planet Aquarium custom 72 x 30 x 24 with ghost overflow. But the CADE is a beauty. I saw them in person at the last ReefBuilders event almost exactly a year ago.

Prostar is another maker I have seen lately, but I have no idea on quality. They just raised their prices, but were super cheap before the price increase. https://www.fishtanksdirect.com/prostar-rimless-230-gallon-setup-white.aspx

Those are valid points, the ATO being there is kind of annoying. Thanks for chiming in. I will likely not get a Cade because they force you to buy the whole set up, where I asked if I could buy the tank only since I want to do a built in tank. They said no, rather Algae Barn said no? Apparently they are Cade's customer service? Not sure how I feel about that either. I will check out Prostar as well. Much appreciated!

I really like the Planet tanks. They feel high quality. And the ghost overflow that @Andrew_bram got with his Planet Aquarium looks awesome. I went with SC Aquariums because I didn’t want to order through a shop, just wanted it delivered to my house. I’m happy so far!
