Mohawk Paly colony on a rock

I have a colony of Mohawk Paly (or I think that is what they were called) that I would like to rehome. They grew very quickly and are now covering the entire rock. The rock is about 2"x6" and I would like to see my sand bed once again. Sorry for the picture quality from my phone but you should get the general idea.
