I have a Kalk Reactor and I’m trying to determine how to measure how long the media will last. When do I know the Kalk is spent? Measure the ph to ensure it’s 12.4?
The instructions say mix 2 cups in the reactor. Consulting with Mr. Google, 1 cup = 48 tsp (16 tbsp). I was thinking I can measure how much water goes through the reactor a day. If I understand the articles correctly, 4 tsp per gallon will create saturated slurry. Is that correct?
If I use 1 gallon a day, 1 cup should last 16 days. 3 cups lasting 32days. Does that sound right as far as math? I don’t know what I’ll need to add each day yet, but just trying to calculate a way to determine how long before I need to replace the lime.
