Interesting side effect of new media reactors

So, installed a BRS dual reactor 2 weeks ago. One side is running carbon the other is Brightwell's Xport No3. My refugium was not keeping up with the nitrate in my folwr so thought I would see how the Brightwell product worked. Took a look in my fuge today and noticed that the macro algae is dying. Apparently it is pulling out more nitrate than I thought. Thoughts?

You may need to cut the media in half it's probably pulling it out really fast.
