Warning cleaner shrimp eat clams!!!!

So....while spying on my tank during lights out I found my two cleaner shrimp eating my derasa clam :( I noticed one of the shrimp picking at it the other night but tonight it looks like they finished it off. Sad night to say the least as I really liked that clam.

That sucks. Sorry to hear that Chad. Hopefully they don't go after your other clams.

They only do this if the clam is dying, sick or dead! Sorry for your loss but
I don't think they are the culprits.

I have been told before that they simply finish off dying and or injured things before. However this clam was perfectly fine 3 days ago as far as I could see. Now...maybe something got to its foot and I didn't know but appeared fine until first night when lights went out.
