Hey guys! I need the black plastic rim for the top of a standard 40 gal breeder as soon as possible!!! I have been running the tank rimless with a glass brace across the middle for 5 years. Tonight I found the brace had fallen into the tank! I am panicking and already drained about a third of the water out. The sides must be bowing for the brace to fall in right? I'm freaking out and I can't run the tank properly unless it is full to run down the overflow to the sump. Does anyone have one laying around or know where I could get one asap.
Please give me your feedback.

I have a 40 gallon breeder tank that has the black trim. You're welcome to the tank if you need it or can just take the rim and dispose of the tank.

Dude that would be amazing! Where can I meet you tomorrow? I just need the trim I think! I don't think I can get much rest until I know something is holding the sides of that tank together

I can bring it to work with me. Or I'll be up for a while if you want it tonight. I'll bring the tank and you can use want you want.

I've been running a 40 breeder without a rim for over a year with no issues. It does bow a little but i called the manufacturer and they said if it never had a plastic center brace the plastic rim was not structural and unnecessary. Also, when i removed the plastic rim it was a bear. I don't think you'll ever be able to remove it in one piece to fit on your tank. If you bought the tank and it didn't have a center brace I think you'd be okay.

Although this may be true. I have to listen to my tank here. The glass brace fell in to the tank meaning that the long sides have moved quite a bit. I hope that I can remove one from an old tank easily.
