Wish it was reef ready. WTB 75 or larger but no larger than 100. I'll keep lurking and reading. I did have a 75 years ago. Can anybody tell me if moderate indirect sunlight will cause issues in the tank with algae growth, I have heard yes and no. When I get ready to set it up I have a perfect spot along an interior wall in the living room but it opposes lots of windows that do have blinds and curtains. The placement is on main floor with basement below (little concerned with weight) so I may consider some equipment in basement but would rather have all in the cabinet. I have considered a Red Sea Reefer but those are $$$$. I have also thought about calling Fluid Designs but I have to think eventually someting will pop up used that wont break the bank.

Yes, the sunlight will increase your algae growth. However, you might be able to work around it if you have an excellent skimmer, and don't overfeed the tank. It will also depend on how much light the tank is getting from the windows, and how big a janitor crew you have. If you were going bigger, I'd say grab a few tangs and they'd help with the algae, but most tangs need more room than you're planning on having. A Scopas tang might do ok in a 75, but that's about the only one I can think off offhand that I'd put in a tank that small.

If you have a better spot for it, I'd seriously consider putting it there. It isn't that you can't manage it, but it's an extra hassle on top of all the other issues that come with building miniature oceans in the middle of the country.

Just my 2 cents - take it for what it's worth.
