Adding Equipment to your tank?

So we have all bought equipment before for stuff that goes out. What do you all do before sticking it in the tank? Vinegar bath, bleach bath or nothing? How about any stickers that are on them. Of course its easy to get the sticker off but what about the glue residue that's still on it?

I wash plastic stuff with soap and water to get the mold release agents off. Otherwise it usually gets a quick rinse and goes into the tank. Acetone gets sticker goo off and evaporates quickly without residue.

I am a horrible fish keeper. Things come out of the package and go right in.

Stickers come off, but there's no stop between the package and the tank.

Vinegar and water will do the trick
