Ill be setting up a frag tank here shortly. It will be 24x24x6 inches tall. I know I want to go with AI lighting. Ill be keeping LPS, SPS and zoas. Will an ai nano be enough if I mount it higher to get the spread? Or do I need to go with a sol?

I had an AI sol nano over my 28g and honestly it wasn't enough and I just couldn't seem to make anything happy with. If it were me and I was only choosing between these two lights I'd go with a full size sol blue all the way!

Even with the corals being 5" under the water? I just don't want to have to buy a controller too.

You'd be fine depth wise but I don't think you'll get enough spread for for 2'x2'. This is just my opinion see what others say. I haven't know anyone that's been happy with the AI nano long term though.
