This rock use to have a hundred zoas on it. They have all been melting over the past few months. I moved the rock to a higher flow area and this was on the shaded underside of the rock... purple slimey stuff
I had a mushroom floating, landed next to a pineapple sponge and completely melted to goo in less than five minutes. I didn't realize sponges packed such a wallup but evidently they have their own means of defense.
generally, but its hit or miss, I seem to have got lucky with mine. I keep her well fed and so far Ive had no issues with her picking at any corals that I have noticed (crosses fingers)
