Ok so my 55" Sony Bravia 3D LED 240hz tv just went back to Costco. Long story short. My 3 year old thought he was helping me clean and sprayed the whole thing with Windex. TV picture was shot and I had a 2 year warranty from Costco. They couldn't fix it so they gave me a full refund...whew. Now I am in the market for a 55" or 60 " Samsung 3D LED 240hz. Any of you guys using these new tvs from Samsung. I want to know what you think of it before I go plunk down close to $3k. If you have some feedback I would greatly appreciate it.

I have a 55" Samsung 3D LED LCD tv, 120hz. Love it. I thought the human eye couldn't discern the difference between 120 and 240? I looked at a 120 side by side with a 240 at Best Buy and could not see any difference but the price tag!

Thanks for the input! Yeah the price tag is about $1000 difference. I have not seen them side by side yet. I am going to look tonight.

I have a 55 Samsung smart led 3d TV at 240 you see the different when you have fast motion the 120 gets a little blurry on the edges like the outline of ppl and the 240 does not watch a action movie side by side and you will see the difference

In theory thats what its supposed to do but have you seen a 120 and 240 side by side watching the same thing? At Best Buy they played Transformers on 2 tvs, one 120 and one 240 at the same time and I could not see any difference. IMO the technology is faster than what our eyes and brain can compute.

I have been installing home theaters for 15 years and have installed and watched thousands. Right now i feel that samsungs are the best for the money. The 240 is good but the 600 is amazing, although most people have a hard time seeing the difference.

IIRC you have to watch 3D to really get the benefits from 240hz. I have probably only watched maybe 5 movies since owning the tv in 3D. 99% of what I watch is in 2D. I guess I personally don't see the benefit of 240hz and I am the type of personality to buy the very best and most expensive.

I am the same way buy the best but there is a reason why it costs more so it must be better what ever it be better parts or faster processor

Technically the human eyes cannot see anything over 15Hz. When it is shown still images at a faster rate (60, 120, or 240) it perceives it as a constant flow of light. No one is quite sure how the eye works in this regard. They do know that under 30 FPS, you start to see flickering. At around 60FPS you stop seeing the flickering and see gray instead.

Check this out though. http://frames-per-second.appspot.com/
Fun to play around with.

Also, the effect you talk about when you compare the two TV's together, and the facts that they dont tell you. 1 TV is running with Motion Blur where the other is not. Motion blur is what makes the letters look crisp when they are scrolling on a banner, and images look good when the camera is panning away.

My brother has a 240hz Samsung and I think it looks fake. I did a little reading on it and thats what I found most people at the time thought. I can't describe it but it looks very unnatural to me. I know it depends on the room but I would look at a projector. I have 3d projector shooting on a 110" screen and its the only way to watch movies.

This sounds awesome!!! I'm a newbie when it comes to flat screens and such. Just got a (I think) 64 inch LED LCD HD and it's WAY better than the old tube hahahaha

+1. I have mine tuned down to 120 for most things. Have not watched any 3D but I'll turn it back on for that. But it looks "off" when you are watching normal programs in 240 IMHO.

Yeah the high def world is crazy and in a year the next big new thing comes out anyways lol.

So I went to bestbuy last night and was basically there until closing. So I checked out last years Samsung 60" 240z LED 3D tv. It was around $2599.00 new. I told the salesman I will prob take that one and check to see if it is in stock. He said they only have that display model. Well I said if you can get it close to $2k I will take it, as long as it gets the same warranty and everything comes with it. He checked with the manager and said ok I can do it for $2150. Sweet, I told him I will take it. Well he could not find the pedestal or the remote :(. Now the manager comes over and asked the salesman "how much for the new one, this years model"? He told them they are right at $3k. Which it was $2899.00 new. He said let me do something, came back and said " I will give it to you for $2499.00 and included are 4 pairs of glasses and a 3D Samsung Blu Ray player. SOLD!!! So I bought it and now it delivers on Saturday....can't wait!!! Here is a link to the one I ended up getting.

Haha, yeah it hurt because I still had to shell out another $700 out of my pocket...but if your already at that price range..what the heck is a few more... err.... hundreds more :). That can prob be said about everything in general lol. Can't wait to watch game 7 of the Lakers & Nuggz on it. I was born in SoCal so BIG Lakers fan, but I have been a fan and loved the nuggets back when it was Antonio Mcdyess, Laphonso Ellis and Nick Van Exel. Back when everyone sat front row in McNichols LOL...^^^^Chad you're invited to come by anytime man.
