Just curious who still uses them - please post it up since I know some of you are lurking. I am bringing 10K back to my reefs.

Hamilton 250W 10K on M80 and their 145 to 149 PPFD. This is a nice white bulb for those who have not seen it that pops coral pretty well. I will also be using a pair of VHO Super Actinics for the rest of the pop.

For comparison, a 250W Radium 20K is 85 PPFD on M80 (the correct ballast). A 400W Radium 20K is 90 PPFD on the M58 ballast (the correct one). These would be equivalent to just over 4 Radion 30s and more than 10 Kessil 350s in terms of radiated watts.

I've got the 250 watt 14k's from Hamilton with some t5 supplementation. I remember when I got my 1st 10k's back in the day. They were an upgrade from the 6500k's I had. Acros grew like crazy with both bulbs.

I ran 10k XMs for years but they dont fire reliably on electronic ballasts for me so switched to Hamilton 14k 400s last year might go to the 10ks this year though, fish look better under 10k IMO

Great timing on this thread. I am going to put 10K Reeflux HQI bulbs on Lumatek electronic ballast in March when it's time to swap out my bulbs.
