anyone been stabbed by a vermetid snail

I was going to clean the skimmer reached down to unscrew a pump and ran a vermetid right proper deep into my thumb to the point where it bled pretty good. the hole is so small it didnt open up very much just wondering if anyone has done this and if you had any issues

Never happened to me but I would definately clean it out real good

Yeah, I would clean as best i could, and use a topical antibiotic.

soak in vinegar if it broke off in your thumb otherwise its like any other cut.

nope it didnt break off i opened it up a little today to get it cleaned out

I have had this happen a couple times. Even when the piece broke off in my thumb worst that happened was a bit of redness and swelling. It was fine with in a week or so.

I have had so many punctures, cuts and scrapes in the almost 30yrs of keeping a saltwater tank and I will always remember one of those SOB's cutting deep between my fingernail. Stung pretty bad and swelled a bit like Adam mentioned, but that was it.
