Anyone running Plankton reactors?

#1
I am thinking of buying the aquamedic plankton reactor with the light. I've done a lot of research and have an idea of how it works and what it needs. Having said that once I do start the system and have it running for a few days and it's ready to go, my plan is to dose my tank about every other day, and if I do that do I just replace the amount of water I took out of the system with the same amount of salt water? (for example if I dosed a cup do I add a cup of salt water to the reactor?) or do I have to wait to use up the whole thing and then restart the whole process all over?

I have one, but have never used it, my 2 liter bottles work just fine. The one thing I DON'T like about the idea of dosing from the reactor is the extra F2, or whatever fertilizer you use, getting into your system. Typically I let my phyto go until about all the nutrients are used up, and then split/refrigerate. The refrigerator slows down the metabolism of the phyto so no more nutrients are really needed. If you use your live growing culture, and dose while there is still that fertilizer in your culture, 1) your dosing it to your tank (generally very high in phosphates) and 2) you have taken it out of your culture, and have to figure out how much to replace with the fresh water. I have six cultures at a time going, and mostly for back up, depending on the culture, they can crash fairly easy. In case your wondering, I don't dose that much to my tanks, but copepods go through it three times faster than what I dose my system.
