I need to borrow someone's aptasia laser or let them come over and target practice. Could probably throw in a frag of something for your troubles. Anyone?

This is where i got mine from. Good price and a nice laser. I have the 1.4W which actually is at 1.6W. I wish I got the 2.1W though for the extra money. This guy also has good prices on safety glasses. Be super careful. The reflection off the glass/acrylic will actually burn you and fish, pets, family members can be blinded easily. These lasers are no joke. Probably the reason no one is jumping up to loan one out.

I wonder how quick one could melt a hole in a car tire......

Well I'm not convinced that a laser is the end all for apt problems, I would recommend nothing less than a 2w for best results. I have a 2.2w laser and it works fairly well, however any deeper than say 10" of glass and water its much much harder to have success.

ohhh well that will make me think if a 2.2 is a better choice thanks for the heads but before i spent 300 on something that probably wouldnt work

Now if you are zapping frags in shallow (few inches) or out of water I'm sure less than 2w would be fine. However for the price might as well go bigger :D

definately not the solution for an aiptasia outbreak. lasers are perfect for the little ones that sprout up in the middle of a zoa colony or anywhere super close to a coral colony. otherwise kalk paste is best.

I got a 3w laser and ever since I've been zapping them like crazy every night more and more keep appearing. It's so bad now that I'm breaking down my 30 and starting over. I cannot keep up so I'm convinced the laser is spreading pores.

ive had the best luck with peppermint shrimp... they dont kill em all off quickly like people think they should, but they will decimate a tank full over a period of time.
