Has anyone used this? I bought a small bottle to try and it has a gazillion things in it-- main ingredients are zooplankton, phytoplankton, rotifers, copepods and the rest seem to be measured much less. I mixed it in the mixing bottle it came with and dumped it into the tank instead of spot feeding (lazy? maybe... but more like I can't be bothered as it mixes all up in the tank anyway).

I just started using it-- plan on using it weekly for the few filter feeders I have but I figure other things like the tiny feather dusters and sponges will enjoy it as well. I do have a porcelain crab in the tank, though I very rarely see him, I know they have their little fan hands to catch food.

I bought a bottle of coral frenzy which is basically the same thing. I used it for a little bit but stopped. I am not convinced that corals actually eat it. I think the only thing it does is add DOC and nutrients to the tank. If you want to feed your corals then I recommend feeding live plankton. At least with live plankton it will stay in the water column until its eaten and wont pollute your tank. I also get a MUCH better response from my corals feeding live plankton. I add live phyto (nanno & tetra) daily (this doesn't feed sps/lps but it does feed the zooplankton which feeds the coral) and I feed zooplankton once a week. My zooplankton consists of rotifers, tisbe & tigriopus copepods. When I add the zooplankton to the water everything goes nuts, corals, fish, everything shows a response.

So where do you get these live planktons? My set up isn't very big... so I'm not sure I should even bother adding live planktons.

There are a lot of places that sell it. Elite Reef sells the reef nutrition line. However you will have to buy the zooplankton all separately. In other words you cant buy rotifers, tisbe and tigriopus copepods in the same bottle.

I culture plankton however so thats how I feed. I sell 16oz bottles of phyto for $10 and 16oz bottles of zooplankton for $15

How long can the culture last in the bottle?
Phyto - about a month - must be refrigerated and shaken daily

Zoo - about 7 days (I do put phyto paste into the bottle which will last about 3-4 days then they can go unfed 3-4 days but don't recommend it). Basically if the water in the bottle goes clear you need to use it right away.

I'd love to try it out some time but I rarely leave my little part of Colorado. Next time there is a swap or something I'll pm you and get a bottle. And I just remembered you're the one selling macro algae (your sig) so yeah, I'll hit you up at some point for both.
