So I was browsing CL for a bit and came across Catfish Charlie's posting there shipments on there. So I called them to see if they were in the same area (Lafayette) as back in the day. It was the original owner I talked to too. I asked about drygoods, and he said there policy is, if they don't have it in stock they will order it in and you pay what they pay, plus taxes (pretty cool). So has anyone been there since they re-opened? I remember this being the place that got me into Saltwater when I first went in there over 10 years ago, crazy. Sounds like another spot in the works for the northern sector ;).

I was there yesterday, very disappointed. Nice ppl but they had hardly any corals and their fish looked terrible. 3/4 of the store is fresh water, just my opinion but I was very disappointed

Well that is disappointing to hear. He did tell me there were three saltwater shipments coming in tomorrow from three different vendors and there was a guy putting in frags as we were talking. Well I will have to check it out for myself, if anything to bring back memories and hopefully there salt prices are decent.

I was there last week and was pretty impressed, great prices (compared to Grand Junction) and he was great to talk to... Sent me home with 9 fish, 4 goby firefish, 2 bangii cardinals, and 3 horseshoe crabs for 60 bucks or so.. Set me up with a heated box so they would last the trip, and everything is still alive and well, after a Seven hour drive and a night inn the hotel..( normally 4.5 but had truck issues) Up here go by are 14-17 by them selves so, I got a great deal!! Will for sure go back, but that's my opinion!

I personally have liked going there. Haven't really gave them any business yet, but will. Owner is a talker and willing to spend the time with customers to just chat or help educate. He used to have the biggest LFS in Colorado, and his retail and wholesale experience alone is worth listening to the guy. He told me he had originally planned on expanding into the back of the store with a pond/koi section, but is rethinking that decision to expand his saltwater selection. I gave him my opinion that the pond side of his business would be very seasonal and the saltwater would probably do him better justice year round. He said he was leaning in that direction. We'll see.
