Christmas Vacation: Bought a Nanny Cam for the tank....& the house

So I'm leaving for a week and half on vacation and didnt want to worry about my water children.....my reef tank so I invested in this

Now I can not only watch my tank & home via my iPhone or Mac but I have piece of mind knowing that I can check in on my house while I'm away. I'm taking my dog with me and we're driving to Phx this time but normally when he's home I can now check in on him to make sure the house is burning to the ground etc. I figured for $100 its worth every penny. Check this bad boy out! Its got a 2 way mic, night vision and it pans/tilts 300 degrees and its in True Color.

What do u do for vacation or pro-longed absences from your tank? How do u monitor it or do u?

Now I just need to find someone to feed my tank a couple days...and no I'm not buying an auto-feeder

Seriously, though, I may have to get one of those. I have gone, oh, 12 summers without anything monitoring the CHS reef except me stopping by every week or two. It sure would be nice to check in more often in case there's a flood or something. Thanks for sharing.

There are 2 models. The $68 one on Amazon at HD is the " last years" model its minus a couple things but same high ratings. The $98 one is the newest true color version. We'll see but I read their both GREAT! I might take u both up on a quick stop by the house...I'll hook u up with something. I'll be in touch Love our community everyone is willing to help!

Not necessary man, it's always nice to have someone check in for a piece of mind. Did you get an automatic fish feeder?

I have these at my house and love them, had to set up a static ip to properly port the cameras to the Internet but they have worked flawless. The only complaint is that there are more/better apps for android then for iPhone.

I might need your help with that static IP. I hear its not super difficult but not exactly easy to set this thing up.

Sure no problem, I used dyndns, it's free to set up and free to use one hostname on, it's also cool cause you can view your cameras from any Internet connected computer, no app or program required.

Thanks Gabe I might very well take you up on that offer! Praveen it has both Android and Apple IOS apps. Its viewable any where and everywhere with an internet connection. You can pan, tilt in true color and its got a 2 way mic! You talk to the guy who's robbing your house....that should scare the **** out him lol! Or even better you can tell your fish a bed time story each night before lights out ;-)

Snapshots from the Remote Wireless IP Foscam! My armless tank sitter has been installed! So awesome! Gives me great piece of mind and it protects the house by alarming me to motion and sounds.

I got the ibaby from apple, I can view my system and move the camera from my iphone or ipad anywhere! I can do it while driving even LOL pretty slick!
