cleaning old hydroponic equipment

is there a way to clean old hydroponic equipment well enough to make it safe for reef use? I have a old flood tray I would like to use as a frag tank I knoe the nutrient soultions contain heavy metals would bleach then vinegar be ok or should I use muratic acid?

The sump I'm building was an old water tub from a hydro setup. i scrubbed it in bleach then with vinegar and rinsed several times but also curious if it was enough or should I go with something stronger

Vinegar is not even on the same level as muratic Use the muratic. If you are worried after that, use some cuprisorb for a while and see if it turns color.
