Clowns split over RBTA

#1
My clown pair have been inseparable since adding them to my display. Within days they were hosting an anthelia colony together. The female is quite a bit larger than the assumed male which is tiny. Immediately the male began submitting to the female, twitching as she would show aggression. None the less they were joined at the hip. Last week I introduced a nice RBTA, and within days the female abandoned the anthelia and started hosting in the RBTA. The only thing is she left her partner behind and he shows no intentions of leaving the anthelia. Now they're never together. What are the odds the little male turns female since he has a castle to himself and no one to keep him in check?

Oh he is still under her reign whether he wants to be or not. Unless you have a huge tank I would say its very unlikely he would turn to female. I think it more likely that the female has laid claim to both and has left the male to tend the anthelia while she lives it up in the nem

I wonder what would happen if you moved your anthelia to the sump for a couple of days? I'm not suggesting it, just wondering what would happen if you did?

I thought about that as well when I brought in the RBTA, but she took to it so fast I figured he would surely follow. I'll give it some more time, he just seems completely content in there.

It's not likely that they will stay split unless you have a very big tank - my female stays in my rbta and my male stays in a lps flower pot most of the time but they swim and hang out together some times.
