Cooling Fan Clip, any ideas?

So I use 4 120mm PC cooling fans to help keep my temps low. Here is a old pic:

I dont have the house fan up there anymore.

Well, I am down to 1 fan now, I suppose the harsh saltwater environment caused the fans to seize on me. Instead of 4 120mm fans I just purchased 2 200mm fans.

What I am looking for is a way to clip the fans onto to canopy bottom lip and angle them down towards the water more. Any reef safe ideas? Adjustable would be perfect.

By the looks of that back lip it doesn't look like a clip fan would be too secure. I just hooked up a small desktop fan over my sump...it sits vertically against the cross-brace in the rear of the stand using a C-clamp to hold it in place. If you're not opposed to moving the fan to the left side of your tank, that might be an easy option...just grab a fan with a flat base and clamp it to the canopy.

What about getting some big clips like the ones you use for chips and glueing them to the fans at the desired angle.

Maybe a some sort of hinge. Fasten one half, via screws, to the canopy and glue/bond the fan to the other half. This will allow you to angle the fan how you like. Just an idea.

Not sure if you are willing to do this, but the most efficient way to remove heat from a canopy is to cut openings in the top of the canopy that pull air out of the top. The opening in the back will allow colder air from the room to take its place.

You might be an engineer if...You have no life, and you can PROVE it mathematically.

I am not trying to remove heat from the canopy as much as I am trying to lower the temp of the system through evaporation cooling. The more air I have hitting the surface of the water the quicker and cooler the water gets. Fans on the top of the canopy will do little in this regard.

Could always epoxy a bolt into the end of Loc-Line section, then mount the computer fan to that with a nut. Put the threaded end into a pvc threaded end cap on the canopy. Fan on an adjustable neck. Let me know if you need a pic.

Otherwise, try the hinge idea. A lot less work.
