Thought I would start a thread to toss ideas for the putting together a fundraiser for Don.
As I think you all know we have lost a fellow reefer, a father, a loved one to many and dear friend to many of is here on MASC.
While many of us are gathering items such as Don's Tank build, coral frags, misc equipment and cash donations; I thought it might work well and or be beneficial if we came up with a time date and place to have a fundraiser.
My initial thoughts would be this:
Set up a place to have a first and foremost gathering of friends to honor Don. With this would be a live auction and sale for all of the donations. We would of course auction off big ticket items such as the tank build, but also individual misc mechanical items that are donated. We then could have a Frag tank or two setup in order to sell individual frags and corals. I think this would give us place to gather in rememberance of Don, collect donations all in one place as well as continue to grow and strengthen the comradery of our MASC community. Lastly of course all proceeds 100% would be donated in memory of Don.
This is just my initial thoughts and def will take some further thought and input from everyone. I would hope we could get the help and blessing of the BOD in getting this together as to further increase out ability as a group to help contribute to Don's family and memorial. If my idea is to far fetched and seems to hard to get together, please disregard..
