Educate me about generators

Looking for a generator that I can use both for camping and for tank emergencies. Not sure where to start as to sizing. The main thing I'd like to keep running in the tank would be the two 500w heaters, two mp40s and the iwaki return pump if possible. I'd also like the generator to be quiet. I know the Honda generators are extremely quiet but damn are they expensive.

Anyone know anthing about generators that can clue me in to what size/brand I should look at? Anything else I need to know that are must haves before I buy one?

I have a 10kw generator (12k surge) briggs and strantton. It's sized for the whole house (AC) and everything else including the whole reef. I've used it a few times..... real peace of mind.

you can also put them into a outdoor generator house to cut the noise

if you get one for home use i would definelty reccomend getting a Natural gas fuel equipped generator that way you dont run out of gas
