It controls co2 output. Assuming you're talking about a ca reactor though, you need a ph monitor to control when the silonoid opens and closes.

It is for a Ca Reactor. I have seen regulators with and without?

With means that you also need a ph monitor, but instead of only controlling how much co2 goes in to the reactor, you control the exact ph and therefore melting speed of the media. Without means you only control how much co2 goes in, and ph can fluctuate along with melting speed.

Thats cuz some people use bubble counters to estimate the Co2 flow through the media, and their pH controller is hooked to a stirrer or dosing pump to counter act the pH drop.
