Fish dying- Advice?

I have had three apparently healthy fish die and I'm trying to find a cause without success. The first was about a month ago, a blue-faced angel that I got from MACNA. He was eating well, no signs of ich, looking quite lovely and adapted well to the tank (he'd been in for about three months). One day I found him stuck to the overflow, not quite dead. I removed him, but he died shortly after. Two days ago, I came home to my blue (hippo) tang dead. He had died recently because none of my CUC had started on him yet. It seemed like he might have choked himself to death by eating too big a piece or algae, because there was some hanging out of his mouth and I pulled on it and a rather massive piece came out. The blue was a rescue from Petco who was recovering splendidly from a case of HLLE. No signs of ich, ate like a pig (obviously), and he had been in my tank about a month and a half. Finally, I came home from work yesterday to find one of my baby snowflake clowns stuck to me vortech. Again, no signs of ich, eating well; I got him at MACNA so he'd been in the tank almost 6 months and seemed fat and happy. I will test all my parameters when I get home, since I know that will be asked, but things have been stable for quite a while. I have a ton of other livestock that seems fine but if there is a problem that is systemic I'd like to take care of it before it kills again! Please help, I am feeling very discouraged by this, and it comes right before I was planning on getting back into the coral side of the hobby!

Test your water so we have something to base and idea off of.

Were there any bite marks on the dead fish?

Any fuzzy stuff on the dead fish?

What size tank?

Was the tank new or used when you got it?

How old is the tank?

Did you start woth live or dry rock? Could be a mantis if you started live.

Possible, although with a mantis, I would expect you wouldnt find much of a body if that were the case and the cuc would be the first victims most likely

I will take params when I get home. Tank is 180 gallon, been running in its current location for 1.5 years, been set up 2.5 years. Started with dry marco rocks, seeded with live rock from my other tank, which is no longer set up. The only physical marking on the dead fish was from where they were struck to the pumps/overflow. I'm very much doubting that it could be a predatory hitchhiker since I haven't added live rock or even coral to the tank since it was set up 2.5 years ago. The other livestock in the tank is:

4 banggai cardinals
1 snowflake clown :confusion:
1 marine beta
1 yellow tang
1 kleinii butterfly
1 midas blenny
4 lyretail anthias
1 firefish
1 blue-sided fairy wrasse
1 yellow coris wrasse
1 McCoskers Flasher wrasse
1 neon goby

Other than the first three line items, which are from MACNA, all those fish have been in the tank about 1 year with no problems. I saw no signs of bullying (torn fins, wounds, hiding).

Do you have any qualms about using chemi-pure? Chances may be low that something toxic ended up in the tank, but I've always had good luck with additional filtration putting an end to mysterious fish deaths.

Ohh that's a good idea! Maybe some polyfilter as well?

I actually have some chemi-pure running currently. I'm just a loss figuring out what might be affecting newer fish but none of my old ones.

They could have been caught with cyanide. What vendor did you buy them from? One common theme between all of them is that they are all wild caught and two of the 3 came from MACNA.
