Fish Tank in basement

Was going to set up a fish tank in the basement, more or less it would be a permanent QT. The basement is unfinished, the tank would be off the floor and I would run two heaters in it as well (one in DT & one in sump). My mixing cans and RO water are down there and I have a heater in my SW can and the thermometer reads 78-85 degrees (depending water level of the can, going through the pump and heater makes the water quite warm) Would that be pretty tough to keep warm? Thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.

Tough probably not. Expensive - maybe a little in the long run. I wouldn't worry about it. What is the ambient temp? How many total gallons?

Why would it be expensive in the long run. Its going to be a semi permanent set up. I'll probably have it up for roughly a year or less. Temperature right now would probably be around 60 degreesish +/- 5. Total gallons would be roughly 60-75, tank would be 40 and sump would be either 20-35 gallons.

Eh - I was just taking electric cost. Some people are more sensitive than others to it. IMO you will be just fine. I had 300g running in my basement and it was about 65 - 68 degrees. 2 x 300w heaters did just fine when I was on LED's.

Put two heaters in there, you'll be fine. I had a 150 in an unheated addition in a house and it stayed 78 without a problem.

I think the cost of running the heaters is a fraction of that of the lights and pumps.

For what its worth my sump is in the basement which gets down to 60 in the winter. I just use 2 300w heaters. For me this work really well because im pushing just over 1000w with my MH and t5s. In the summer the heaters rarely kick on and temp seems to maintain 78deg just from the heat of the lights an return pump.

I personally dont see any issue with having the tank in the basement.

I have a 40g Breeder with 30g sump in my basement for a year now. 66-68 degress is where the temperature sat with no heaters. I run two heaters now and maintain 77-78 degrees. I run LEDs.
