What should I go with Led's or halides. If they were halides they would 2 250 watt radium over a 120 gallon tank. Led they would be probably be 2 evolution 100 watts or 150 watts. I really like metal halide because i know its a sure thing. Opinions please
I would go LEDs. two Evolution 200w will be good. I switched to LEDs and still have good growth. plus you'll be saving on electricity and no heat problem.
If were me I would plan to run either 3 halides or 3 led panels. As I'm assuming you have 2 center braces to compete with if you were only running 2 of each
but the thing is, is led worth the growth and color over hailde, i would hate to change 80 dollar bulbs over 7-9 months every time whileone fixture lasts a year?
Those are actually great MH bulbs!!!! I used those exclusively before I switched to LED. My only qualms with MH was the heat and electricity costs when you get a few of those bulbs on for 10+ hrs.
I agree with using LEDs and you might want to check out the group buy that DV3 set up here on MASC. These normally go for $500.

I have 3 250s over my 125long plus 2 60watt actinic led strips 1all blue 1 50/50 blues and 14k for sunrise to sunset and run the MH for only 4hours no heat issues why not have the best of both worlds get the MH growth and led pop
