A friend of ours has 2 young boys (2 and under) and the older one is hooked on Finding Nemo. He LOVES fish. They are talking about getting him a fish tank, but have the normal concerns that people who don't love fish have... Mainly, maintenance.

II really like the idea of those NoClean Aquariums [http://www.nocleanaquariums.com/], only they are clearly way too small and I hear people make the complaint that they're just not well executed, just poor craftsmanship. He used to absolutely love my cichlid tanks (he hasn't been over since the switch to saltwater), and i was thinking of using the same principal of the NoClean Aquarium on a 10g. I'm guessing my first attempt isn't going to be as good as i want, so i'm wondering if anyone has an old 10g i could experiment with. This way i can also start cycling now, and just switch all the decor over to have it ready by christmas.

Interseting about Aquamart. I was just there, lol. Bought a Foxface from them this weekend.

And as for doing this with saltwater, i suppose in theory you could? This is going to be freshwater however... If absolute minimal maintenance is what you're looking for, then saltwater is not the way to go, haha.
