Hello again my friends! I'm officially all moved in to the new house and ready to rebuild the 22g nano however this time I'm gonna do things a little different. I'm going to run a skimmer and less rock. The 22g CAD is an all-in-one so the skimmer must be a HOB Skimmer. I tried the Tunze in the back chamber and it didnt fit under my LED's so I'm gonna run a HOB...or even maybe an external because I do not have a sump. I know people will say you dont need one just do water changes but I prefer to have one for disease and water clarity purposes so I need your help - Give me suggestions on a solid, cost effective but not cheaply made HOB skimmer? Let me know what you think! Thanks fellas...I'm glad to be back

PS: HUGE thanks to Gabe for holding all my stuff for a couple weeks while I got settled....a good guy right there!

Here is one I'm looking at:

All New for 2012 AquaC Remora-S Hang-On Protein Skimmer w/ Drain Fitting (No Pump)

I have a Cobalt 1200 for this one -

Also worth checking out is the Aquamaxx HOB-1

I have one running on my 28g nanocube and couldn't be happier. Definitely gets good reviews. Pulls steadily and it's silent...if that's a determining factor.
I'll look into that one and YES silence is very much key or as close to silent as possible. Also BlazinJack does that skimmer do a decent job? Is it loud? What do u want for it if anything? Thanks!

Skimmer did a great job!! I had it and another skimming my 120, and it would fill the cup everyday!! It's got a nice easy tuning valve and is quiet as long as the return is at water level. I ran it for 6 months or so. It is for sale, looking for $75 cash or trade (coral) OBO!

Just a little tip...as I had the same issue with the return making noise due to the water splashing into my sump. You can cut a square piece of filter sponge to fit so that the bottom portion sits submerged below the water level, and have the return about an inch or so above the sponge. The water will trickle through the sponge and keep it quiet. :)

Just be careful to avoid putting the return directly on top of the sponge...as it will DEFINITELY cause the skimmer to overflow in the worst way. Don't ask me how I know, lol. I have my return now sitting at a 45 degree angle just above the sponge, and it's been working great with no noise...and no more accidents.
