I have a homemade cree LED 180G fixture for sale:

144 CREE LEDs
approx 2:3 white to blue ratio

arctic alumina to attach to homemade aluminum heat sink
hot glue gun to attach 60 degree lens to blue LEDs and 65 degree lens to white LEDs

Wiring harness

I paid over $1500 for the materials a couple years back and spent more than a few hours assembling it. It's a cheap alternative to halogens and to production LED fixtures and it can be dialed up to make any corals happy. Those who have seen my old tank can attest to the coral health - even with these dialed back to ~70%. I've left headroom in my brightness calculations for the LEDs to degrade, and you can continue dialing up the power for the next 20 years without having to replace anything. Unfortunately, we've got a couple of kids and are moving, so I had to sell my setup. Never got around to listing this until now.

True. How were you controlling it? I think those mean wells need a Reef Angel or the like. Don't think my RKL would do more than turn it off and on...

I was using a reef angel. You really only need a pwm (square wave 5V) source. I've read that you can slap one together for really cheap. I think you need a 555 timer and a cap and a resistor and a potentiometer (knob). However, you can always ditch the pwm drivers and go with the level set drivers. BID BID BID!!! :)
