I need to vent....sorry.
Everyday I see more and more animals mistreated and killed for no reason. One more reason I appreciate everyone here doing all they can to perpetuate the little lives in our care and lessen the impact we have on the living natural ecosystem.

I was saddened yesterday when I saw my friend Shy Anne (Rhino)

had been put to sleep at the Denver Zoo due to illness. I understand the reasoning that lead to this. She was sick and suffering. It was time to let her go.

She was my friend and I will miss her.

But I am so tired of hearing about all the senseless killing and abuse of animals all over the world. From cats and dogs being starved, frozen and beaten to this latest event in Denmark. (Even the Olympics had a major impact on little lives as the Russian government in Soichi had as many strays rounded up as possible and exterminated so the world would not see them).

I feel like it is getting out of control. Is it just me? Or do others feel the same way?

The latest events in Denmark and Soichi are available at the links below. It is hard to watch.

Even when they're not directly a part of our lives like pets, I agree that we need to take a live and let live stance.
Most here who buy coral from me get an easy path, but I ask a lot of questions to the Craig’s List folks who but from me. Since I ask questions, I've told people no on buying corals from me so they don't sensesly kill them. The best, or worse actually was I asked what do you keep your salt level at.... ans: you mean you have to put salt in the water? Really.....

Our hobby takes a lot of heat for raping Mother Nature. I know we've gotten better - and Denver is a great coral propagation Mecca - all and all, I personally don't see the abuse in my day to day activities.

Ive personally never been a huge fan of zoos or aquariums. Ive seen too much bad stuff that goes on behind the scenes and it disgusts me, not all, but quite a few. Even the way we treat livestock that is raised for food is disgusting. I went completley vegan for 2 years becuase of my disgust of all this.
