So for the second time in the past year I looked in my tank last night and noticed a new flame angle that was added about a week ago has ich, and I noticed a couple spots on one of my other fish. I know that it is my fault for not QT'ing new fish but in my current residence I am un-able to have a QT tank. I am going to start a hypo salinity treatment in a day or two once I get everything in place and the water mixed up. I was just wondering if there is any medications or anything that you guys would recommend I treat with while they are in hypo. "I don't want to do copper". I feed rods food with garlic added and cyclopeeze. So if you guys have any suggestions please let me know.
I have been going back and forth between hypo'ing them or waiting to see if they will fight it on there own. Any thoughts?
Thanks.

I know that Rmougey had an interested way of getting rid of ich on his fish (we talked at MACNA). I believe he setup 2 normal tanks outside of the display and just moved the fish from tank to tank each day, doing 100 water changes on the tank that the fish had recently moved from. Of course that's just a generalization of what he was saying lol, but it may be worth shooting him a PM or something? It seemed really cool IMO.

You could also treat with Seachems Metronidazole. Use the "focus" to bind it to your given food, and an appetite stimulator like GarlicGuard to make it more appetizing for the fish.

Suggestions of course lol

So you have a few options the only way your going to be able to make sure your tanks completely rid of the ich is to run your tank with no fish in it for 6-9 weeks have your fish in another tank! The life cycle of ich need a fish to host. Just because you don't see any in the fish don't mean there gone.

Second aboslutely drench your food with garlic. In my personal experience it seems to really help. Also running a turbo twist uv light will help killing the ones in the water collumn and uping water changes

What kinda tank is this in?

Another possible option may be quinine sulphate. It's showing some promising results and is thought to even kill the parasite in its cyst phase. It's sold in the aquarium industry under the name 'crypto pro'
