This bright yellow leather coral is washing up on Padre Island, Texas. It seems to be growing over the stems of some other plant, forming long strings. It has very small translucent polyps.

totally looks like a gorge. never seen one that bright yellow before... does it hold its shape if stood up or will it droop and fall over like it has no structure?
Leptogorgia virgulata - Colorful Sea Whip, yes it is a Gorgonian. This species has several color variations including bright yellow. It droops quite a bit, like a long plastic zip tie would.
