I'm out. For now at least.

Went down to feed my fish today (didn't check on the tank yesterday) and everything except for my sump heater and fan were powered down. Every fish was dead, most of my corals dead. Whenever I decide to start back up again I need to not be a dumb *** and seperate half my equipment to different GFCIs. I am planning on moving soon, so I will be posting up whatever livestock survived in the classifieds and tear everything down. I will also part out some or all of my tank (haven't decided yet).

That's horrible, I'm really sorry to hear that! Sucks your getting out but when you come back you'll take what you've learned and fall back in love! Wish you the best of luck with your move.

OMG that sucks. So sorry to hear this. Definitely take a break, get it all cleaned up and out of sight for a while, then see if you want to dive back in again. And when you do (cuz we all know you will), take what you've learned from this and build it bigger and better.
Or move down here and swim in the Sea of Cortez all the time, with lower electric bills and no maintenance...

Man, that is terrible news. Sorry for the loss, but like everybody has said take a break, catch your breath, make your move and then start it back up. Just don't leave us for too long!

Sucks to hear. I had a tank crash a couple of years ago. Horrible feeling, you'll get through it!

Sorry to hear about the tank. That always sucks but hopefully you will decide to get back in it and do it even better.

I'm sure I'll start back up eventually, but not for at least a few months (hence why I am going to sell some or all of my equipment). After this fiasco, I know I don't want to have anything running unless I have my equipment separated evenly across two or more GFCIs, and have my apex, router, adaptor, and circulation on a UPS.

I wish APEX Fusion had an alert that if it didn't talk to our APEX unit, it could alert us, email, etc...

Same here. Reeftronics does that though if you want that feature. I just kept putting off getting an account.

So it looks like all of my LPS survived, but I think all of my sps isn't gonna make it. I'm gonna give it a couple more days before I post up all the remaining livestock just to make sure.

I'm actually very surprised that anything made it. I know whoever takes what survived is getting coral that can take one heck of a beating.

Me too. As a kinda workaround I have my Apex text me a few times a day on a set schedule, so at least I know if I *don't* get a text at those times that something might be up. Better than nothing...
