kalk reactor

so the more corals i get the more i am going to worry about cal. so i was looking in to a kalk reactor but i wanna do a diy one out of some old skimmer bodies. can some one please help on an explanation on how one operates? i do not have ato at the moment is one needed to operate a reactor?

You don't HAVE to have an ato (if you know your evaporation rate you can set up a drip system that would closely match said rate...this is why i run an ato...)

You can use Ms. Wages pickling lime. Everyone says its the exact same thing. I use the kalk from BRS but only because I read that the actual powder is finer and therfore a little kinder to the impellers on my style of reactor.

ok....what kind of reactor do you run? i was looking at them and they seem pretty simple i am just not sure on the operation as far as water in water out??

I use a Geo. Got it used from djkms. He might even have another one.
