I have been looking at getting a little trail rig......so does anyone have one for sale? i found a few on CL but thought i would check here first. It doesnt have to be perfect would prefer it to be drivable and have some kind of lift....oh and straight axles.

I don't have anything, but it just depends on what you're looking for. Budget also plays a big role

The Grand Cherokee? Put a 6" lift and some 33s. Gear it and put a 4:1 in the transfer case and you'll be good to go.

I'd say putting 1000 into your grand now would go a lot farther then getting a project, and now is the worst time to try to buy a 4 wheeler project because everyone's looking right now, prices are inflated.

If you are going to build your daily driver into a rig, just make sure you are prepared to have carnage along the way and may be down for a few days while you fix, tweak, buy new parts, pay for towing , blah blah blah. Spoken from personal experience is why I say that. Otherwise being on the build!!!! I know there are a few other 4x4 gear heads on here and along with myself would be sure to help along the way.

So what are you wanting to do trial wise? That will make or break, whether or not you should build a buggy or put the money into your current rig.

I have an 04 Rubicon that has 33's and can do a ton of the trails here in Colorado, but won't do trails rated at 9 or 10 unless I want to put it through hell.

If you want just a trail rig and plan on trailer-ing it to the trail, then I would say do the project rig. I know a ton of wheelers so if you have any questions please let me know.

Well I am more into trails then mud......
So I gguess for the most part I like the trying to push your rig up the most technical rock hill you can. I have a buddy with a 04 I think ranger on 32s??? That does great with the bed off and only a 3jn lift. I found a 4in lift for 500 for the jeep. Or I had a 85 bronco. I sold to him for 350 and he would sell it back only thing is ot would take 500 just to get it running smoothly again......I am leaning towards lifting the jeep and just saving for a trail truck. Where do you. Guys go? I have only been. To left hand canyon in boulder. I like there cause you can stop and. Shoot lol

Mud is the devil in my mind, not really into it. I dig rock crawling myself. As for what other trails, there are tons out there.

Here is a good site for info on trails. http://www.traildamage.com/trails/index.php
Not all of these are open and if your not sure you can always ask "Stay the trail".
