LF Skimmer help

• my skimmer has been nothing but a let down, its still leaking where the cup detatchs. if I over tighten it, it just jams and I cant get it off. There is a rubber seal inside that does not have any damage. Anything anyone can recommend to correct it would be helpful. The pump for it is a utility submergiable pump called platinum series. If I need to replace the skimmer is there a way to know if the pump will work on the new one?

All the equipment I have for this tank has been given too me so I am not sure of the make or model. but will check if it makes a difference. Its a horrible time this to happen, I would love to use my current equipment and get it fixed. If not what would be a good, cheap replacement to skim 65 gallons with nems and lr only that will work on the pump i have? I have been told to find something that can skim double what I have for the nems.

I have a coral life super skimmer its yours if you want it I actually have 2 you can have both one is only good for parts they are not the best but after seeing what your going thru it may work better

Thank you! I just siliconed some parts and tried to create my own new silicone gasket. I will let you know if if it works since this is my last go at saving this. After looking up the logo on the skimmer i have it is a My Reef Creations? skimmer but is so old I cant find anything about it and is not a newer production model.

Fixed!! Thank you for the offer. It took some extra silicone[attachment=64379:name] and 1hr of tweaking and I found the sweet spot. It appears to be skimming a lot and the nems look happy!
