So I have been debating on lighting. I was strongly considering eco-tech radians or hydra 52's however after pouring through videos and going thru many different light fixtures on my own I found this guys tanks have the most amazing colors on corals I have ever seen. All his videos the colors of the corals are insane. He has his build on reef central and I copied this youtube video just to give everyone an idea of what I'm talking about http://youtu.be/QJLonnWA4M4, He has supplemental cree royal blue less, with vho super actinic x2, t5 aqua sun 10k x2, t5 454 x2, and led moon strip. So this is the route I'm thinking of going. I realize bulbs will need to be replaced where as led doesn't at least not for 50000 hours. The supplemental led will provide the shimmer or should. Any thoughts or comments on this plan ultimately plan on doing a 3ft long SR build maybe innovative marine maybe modded version, vortech mp10 perigen, chemo-pure, protein shimmer, ato, trying to figure out hoe to incorporate a refugium with the innovative marine rear compartment idea.

If you are trying to add shimmer, make sure to space the leds in such a way that they act as only a few point sources. Try to make them into pucks and keep at least 4 in between each "puck". Even then, you may not get shimmer because of washout from the T5s, but that is your best chance.
