Looking for opinion on an LED fixture

#1
Replacing the lighting on my lil 5.5 pico from pc to hopefully led.
On the fence about this fixture, was thinking of doing diy but not looking for another roject at the moment

Thats the fixture and looks decent to me but not a lot of details. 6 3w leds seems like enough for a lil pico.
Stock in the tank is currently only softies and not looking for much more. Just zoas, a frogspawn, and a little clown that didnt want to grow up.

If ya can help me decide please do. Just tired of dumping money on pc bulbs for this lil tank. there 30 bucks locally or 17 bucks shipped. Too damn much for a 36w 16in bulb.

That light is going to be very white. You may also have a problem with bleaching corals out depending on the optics that are used. 120 degree optics would be find, but anything that aims the light, say 90 degree, will blast the light pretty hard. It would work, but not sure you would like it very much.

Think sticking with a 36w 50/50 PC would be better ? The light looked fine and here softies, the bulb just went out.

Depends on what you want. I could build a DIY LED for you, but it would cost more than $40.

Im good with the PC if that other led fixture isnt gonna come out decent. Was worried about the coloring from the minimal blue anyhow. So I found some 50/50s pc on the same site for the cheapest I seen em at 10 bucks a pop.
Its just a toy tank at the moment and will be a little inline frag tank when my breeder is finished so the PC will be legit for the moment.
If I ever wrap up all my other projects Ill do the diy. I used to wire circuit boards and actually enjoyed the work so a diy led would be a blast, just no time.

Thanks for the help !

You build DIY LEDs? How much you think it would cost to build me something to light my 180gal? IVeplayed around a bit with trying to build LEDs, but I seem to always mees up the resistor location and buwn the fixture out so I quit trying. Let me now what you think, Im definatly interested. Anything to cut down this $300 month electricity bill would be great.
