brutal, at least it looks like he is going to rebuild. Man though his maintenance cost on that tank is crazy, 100k per year, yikes but man what a pretty tank it was

Yea - but considering he got the bad new while driving home in his Bentley I am guessing the finances are proportional :)

Yeah I so hate getting bad news while driving home in my Bentley. But still sucks.

That made me sick to my stomach to read. I can't even imagine.

Yes, he's clearly not short on money, but still, the cost of setting up and running a tank that size is absolutely no joke. It sounds like he shared his tank and his knowledge freely, and I respect that enormously. Someone with a lot of money & nice things is putting themselves at considerable risk by having strangers come into their house to see their tank. The guest could be pure of heart, or they could simply be there to case the place.

More than that, tho, you don't spend that kind of money on something if you don't love it. So to see all of those living beings dying through no fault of their own had to be gut wrenching. As well as 5 years of passion and energy and work, literally going down the drain.

I am also very interested to know what would cause a seam rip in the tank. One person suggested it would have happened using 2 part and not a solvent based application. Just scary after just finishing assembling my main DT.
