Metal algae scrapers on acrylic

Anyone using the metal scraper on acrylic? It seems to do a better job and as long as you make sure that it is straight and isn't dragging an edge I would not think it would scratch. Thoughts? Plastic ones (have both the flipper and a magnavore that I glued a scraper blade onto) seem to take much longer to remove the algae.

Own of the downsides to acrylic.

I wouldn't risk it. would rather put the extra effort into cleaning it then have to deal with scratches on the inside.

Eek, good luck. I'm even wary of using those green scotch sponges! But s far no scratches. Gotta put some muscle into it though to get any tougher algae that the magnet thing doesn't work on.

Metal algae scrapers on acrylic

I had trouble getting coralline algae off my acrylic tank and started using the metal blade. I hold it pretty flat and only go one direction. No back and forth scraping. I also bent up the corners so they don't dig in by accident
