Are you thinking 400 though?
400w would be around 3.2-3.4 amps but 250W would only add just over 2 amps. I guess if you only have 1 or two 15A circuits at your place I could see the concern.

Yea...I have a single 20A circuit at my place. I was originally thinking about a 250W setup since running at about 2 amps would be comparable to the radion (1.5 amps), but wasn't sure how PAR would be on my deep tank. The 400W ballast runs at 3.8 amps...maybe overkill as far as lighting is concerned, and as things stand now when I run my window AC in the summer I have to make sure I shut if off before using the microwave .
